“End of session-was the pupil encouraged to reflect on their own performance”?
Ok, let’s with what the ADI 1 says. At the end of the session, the pupil should be encouraged to reflect on their performance and discuss their feelings with the PDI/ADI. The instructor should highlight to the pupil any areas of their driving which was good or needed improvement and how they are going to improve it. The three ‘w’s can use in this instance, where you can ask the pupil- “what went well”? then “What didn’t go well”? and finally to ask,” What do you need to improve”? Remember it’s best to allow your pupil to comment on how they thought they performed, before you offer them your feedback, as it might be different to what your pupil thinks!
